My name is Ethan Cusick, I am a Soft goods technical designer and sewing technician based in Portland Oregon.
I started sewing when I was 15, ripping apart old clothing to make patterns from. I enrolled in Portland fashion institute and took night classes after my day at high school where I took classes in their apparel design program. I took classes ranging from history of fashion to pattern making and construction. After high school I took some time off from sewing but made my way back after transferring positions at a local Portland company called adventure wagon. I was responsible for all in house sewing and soft goods production for about a year and then was given responsibility of technical design and product development for soft goods.
I have a deep passion for hands on work. I love to pull things apart and put them back together to see how they work and how they are made. Some of my other hobbies include photography, graphic design and older cars. I like to think that I have a analytical way of thinking that I introduce creative thinking into to achieve technically accurate results.
