My name is Ethan Cusick, I am a Soft goods technical designer based in Portland Oregon.
My story is about creating things, I always come back to it. Its a part of me I can't and wont shake.
I started sewing at 15, I was given an old sewing machine and the next day started ripping apart old clothing to understand how to make new things. I later enrolled in Portland fashion institute and took apparel design night classes after my day at high school. After high school I took some time off from sewing and design, working random jobs and spending all my free time working on old cars, but made my way back after transferring positions at a local Portland company called Adventure wagon. I ran the upholstery department and later transitioned into the in house soft goods guy. I was responsible for all in house sewing and soft goods production for about a year and then was given responsibility of technical design and product development for soft goods on top of that.
I have a deep passion for hands on work. I love to pull things apart and put them back together to see how they work and how they are made. Some of my other hobbies include photography, graphic design and older cars. I like to think that I have a analytical way of thinking and a compulsion to create.
