This is a set of storage cubes/cubbies that I designed to fit inside our galley system.
Constraints:
- Defined space; Dead space in galley under sink and cook units
- Low MOQ; Materials needed to be available at a reasonable price in small quantities.
- Simple construction; USA manufacturing is expensive and this product did not need to be complex.
- Flat pack; To save on shipping costs and allow for convenient storage.
Take aways:
This was a fun simple project, the process allowed me to think creatively due to the MOQ and manufacturing constraints. It was also nice to get to move a product from development to production over a very short timeline.
Working with the manufacture (based in Portland) was also a great process, even though I am very comfortable sewing and doing production work, there is always teqniques that others my have to offer to make the production quicker.
